- More than 35 years as a trial lawyer, handling hundreds of complex matters in federal and state courts.
- More than 75 jury trials and argued more than 35 court of appeals cases.
- Admitted to Wisconsin and Illinois bars.
- Litigated multiple SEC, EPA, and FTCA matters in federal court.
- Private practice, 2009 to present, including at a large Milwaukee law firm as litigation chair, then at a boutique litigation firm, and presently as a solo-practitioner.
- Presidentially-appointed U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, 2002-2009
- Assistant U.S. Attorney. 1989-2002
- Law clerk for the late Hon. Robert W. Warren (E.D. Wis.), 1987-1989
- Adjunct Professor at Marquette University Law School, 2005 to present.
